Hello! There is so much to share this week! 1st grade was very busy learning and having fun with math manipulatives, computer centers, and interacting with our upper school buddies.
Here we are using cubes to compare and paper square cubes to create pictures. This helps us visually see the difference between more and less. We also had a great lesson using the smart board and our E tools to create cube trains.
We had an awesome time exploring Mr. Berey's Renaissance Fair where we had our faces painted, played fun games. and learned about what life was like during a different time period.
The end to our week was a ton of fun as we celebrated our book fair and reading by dressing as our favorite story character. We had a great lesson with our 5th Grade reading buddies all about how books are made and why reading is so important. Thank you to all of you who generously donated books to our library and gave of your time to come join us at the fair. We got some amazing new titles to read and share! It was wonderful to visit with all of you at Back to School Night and I am so happy you had the opportunity to come see all the hard work the students have been doing.

Busy workers!
This week we have been busy getting ready for back to school night and our book fair! Here are some photos of us decorating our pillow cases for the humane society and working with our older buddies celebrating everyday heros. Also, we spent some time in our spelling centers practicing our words together. I hope to see you all tonight!
